Mobile Biobanking in routine and emergency cases

From June 14, 2017 to June 15, 2017
Holiday Inn Kensington Forum, London
SMI Biobanking conference in London

Dr. Vincent von Walcke-Wulffen will give a speech regarding this topic at the SMI Biobanking conference in London. He will speak about the need to build up a back-up of existing cell lines, how to ship these samples and what to do, if an emergency case occurs.

The BioKryo GmbH, a spin-off of the Fraunhofer-IBMT, stores biological samples of high value with an unique storage equipment by using the new concept of Fraunhofer-IBMT for cryobanks, as they were introduced in the Fraunhofer-Bioarchive or the GHRC-HIV-Biobank. This concept illustrates an innovative standard for long-time storage of cryo- and bio-samples, as it is developed in the Fraunhofer-Cryostorage-Technology (FCT).

The BioKryo biobank stores human samples for therapeutic as well as for diagnostic purposes. BioKryo has an accreditation for the storage of samples for therapeutic purposes according to §20c AMG German Pharmaceutical Law in a GMP-conform biobank. Since 2013 we have an ISO 9001 and since 2016 an AABB accreditation.

The conference will take place on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th of June at the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum.
