BioKryo Selected for Funding in First PERMIDES Round of Call
BioKryo GmbH with headquarters in Sulzbach an der Saar is a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Engineering (Fraunhofer IBMT). The company specializes in long-term storage of bio and cryo-preserved materials by using state-of-the-art automation and centralization solutions.
As part of the PERMIDES project, for which BioKryo will receive an innovation voucher in the amount of about 60,000 Euro, the company and its IT partner Kairos GmbH would like to develop an IT system designed to connect sample/customer data with process data according to predefined GMP standards. Dr. Vincent von Walcke-Wulffen, Managing Director of BioKryo, is very pleased about the financial support provided by PERMIDES: “PERMIDES will help us to digitalize biobanking processes previously carried out manually. This will enable us to achieve better process safety and reduce documentation redundancies, which will in turn increase efficiency. This digitalization of our biobank will also allow us to advance the automation of our biobank“
